FILLER SLAB WORKSHOP

Site visit and hands-on workshop conducted under the Academic Lab, 369 Ochre Studio for the 2nd year students of B. Arch, BMS college of Architecture, Bull Temple road, Bengaluru, aimed at understanding the construction process of Filler Slab used in combination with conventional construction resulting in a composite structure in one of our projects.

RESIPROCAL FRAMES 

This workshop, with an introductory session on Reciprocal Frames, was followed by exploring the architectural and structural concept, design, and construction of reciprocal frames by the participants. Design deliberations was based on the application of design principles such as rhythm, proximity, axis, and finally arrived at composition as an alternative roof structure.

 

Participants in a group of five from Design 3 students and individual participants from Design 1 students had designed and built scaled models of the roof structure. Design and models were discussed and assessed to announce three winners.

Workshop titled- "What is your design story?" conducted for the thesis students of B. Arch at SJBSAP, Bengaluru aimed at comprehending the need and the process of collaborative, participatory and universal design. 

Workshop was conducted as a combination of short introductory lecture sessions interspersed with engaging group deliberations, role plays and immersive hands-on activities that helped students to decipher the
various components (vital need, stakeholder identification & involvement, participatory & collaborative approaches, concepts, design strategies, etc.) towards initiating the iterative process.

PARTICIPATORY DESIGN STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT 
DESIGN COMPETITION

Event: Designuru 2.0 - Day 2 (Urban Design)

Title: Why Design Competitions Matter by CiFoS.

Target audience: Citizen, Professionals, Academicians & Students

Venue: Rangoli Metro art center MG road, Bangalore Bangalore, Karnataka, India

 

The event focused on the significance of design competitions and how such initiatives can be instrumental in involving citizens in city making.

We were invited to present our experience of participating in the #ABetterHebbal design competition. 

The competition aimed to crowdsource ideas on making “An inclusive and Accessible Hebbal” and concepts around increasing the adoption of micro- mobility modes to feed mass transport that are currently available and are being provisioned in the future.
