Vrinda: Hey, everyone! We've got an exciting conversation for you today. Gather 'round as I and Vibha will jump right into the mischievous escapades of Vinit Shetty urf Boxy. From chocolates to cricket and everything in between, Joining us are the masterminds behind these anecdotes, the cousins of Vinit - Nishit, Vishit, Kriti, Devi, Dinu, and his sister, Shreya to share some hilarious tales that turned into legendary sagas.
Vibha: Nishith, spill the beans about your favorite memories with Vinit.
Nishith: Ah, the anticipation of Boxy’s return from Kuwait was something I’ll never forget. Those chocolates he brought back were like treasures from another world! Our vacations in Mangalore and monthly meetings at Grandma’s place in Sion were the highlights of our young lives. Now, let me tell you, Boxy might have been the most obedient cousin, but that didn't stop us from getting into some wild mischief together.
Vrinda: That sounds awesome! Can you share some of those wild tales with us too?
Nishith: Well, we had our mischievous streak. Remember the time we filled the Pepsi bottles with beer? Sneaky, I know, but the thrill was undeniable. And the ice cream binges! We practically had a competition going on for who could eat the most.
Shreya: And let's not forget those fun-filled days near Sharada Hotel, playing cricket.
Nishith: Absolutely! Boxy was my favorite bowler. I knew if I could hit his deliveries for sixes, I would be on top of my game. Cricket wasn't the only adventure, though. Fishing in the pond behind our house was another one of our legendary escapades.
Vibha: Vishit, you seem like you have some stories too. Tell us about your relationship with Vinit.
Vishit: Oh man, Boxy was both my protector and my tormentor! I can't help but chuckle thinking about the beatings I endured from Boxy. But you know what? He was also my protective elder brother when bullies were on the prowl. And let's not forget the legendary cop, Asha, who seemed to be permanently stationed in the kitchen. When Boxy wanted company for soft drinks, I was more than willing to keep him company and escape her watchful eye.
Vrinda: WWE fans in the making, huh? Looks like you had some interesting wrestling matches.
Vishit: Well, there was this constant WWE match between us, and let's just say, we both had our fair share of bruises. Boxie would take me down, and I'd come back with a vengeance – literally biting back.
Vibha: That must have been quite the adventure. What else did you guys get up to?
Vishit: The legendary flooding incident! Filling the bathroom with water and turning the entire home into a water wonderland when we decided to "replicate Kuwait". You should've seen the water level - it was a proper mini-flood reaching out to all rooms! Then, there were those impromptu Holi celebrations, right? We didn't care about the date; if Boxy wanted Holi, we had Holi – water balloons, eggs, and all!
Shreya: Haha, guilty as charged! We'd fill balloons with all sorts of messy stuff and target unsuspecting folks. And remember that time a guy got hit, and he came after us? Grandma to the rescue!
Vrinda: Kriti, it seems like you have a unique perspective. How was Vinit as a brother?
Kriti: Ah, the youngest of the bunch, that's me – Kriti! Back in the day, Vishit Anna and Shreya seemed to have their own little club, and I often felt left out. But you know who came to the rescue? Boxy Anna, my superhero! And his knack for turning even the most innocent games into action-packed adventures, Tying crabs and falzis. Those rolled napkins were no joke, especially when they were aimed at Shreya and Vishit Anna. But hey, I was his favorite and was always safe from being the target.
Vibha: And his favorite foods, anyone?
Everyone: He had a serious love affair with potatoes –Pani puri, french fries, and vada pav, you name it. It was like he had a potato radar!
Vrinda: Dinu, Devi, any special memories you'd like to share?
Devi: Whenever I think of Vinit, I see his infectious smile. That guy could light up a room with his grin! And those Juhu Beach days - remember when his shorts ended up in the water?
Dinu: And can we talk about how he becomes the center of attention everywhere? All our friends would come just to see him.
Vibha: It's incredible how these memories paint a vivid picture of Vinit's childhood. He truly left an impression on everyone he met. Vishit, can you talk about how things changed over time?
Vishit: Oh yeah, that's quite a contrast to the energetic guy you've been hearing about. When he was living in that apartment in Sion, those three flights of stairs were like a mountain for him. I remember the days when both of us used to sprint up and down those stairs without breaking a sweat. As days passed, he'd have to take breaks on each floor, and it was clear that he was struggling. It was a reality check for all of us to imagine the days when Boxy used to come over to play with us versus the times when he couldn’t.
Shreya: It really makes you think about the importance of accessibility and infrastructure, right? Imagine if there were better solutions like a ramp or an elevator in place to make it easier for Boxy Anna to navigate his environment and go down to play. It could have opened up more opportunities for him to enjoy time with cousins and friends. These incidents really put things into perspective and aren't just about his experience but a lesson for all of us. Accessibility should be a priority everywhere. It's about creating a world where everyone can participate fully.
Vrinda: And there you have it, folks! That's a wrap for today's chat with Vrinda and Vibha. We hope you enjoyed these tales as much as we did. Stay tuned for more stories from our wacky, wonderful world of memories coming your way. And remember, let's make the world a more accessible and inclusive place for everyone.
Wonderful to read about the once mischievous kids, now grown up adults, remembering the good old innocent days! The idea of Beer 🍺 in Pepsi can is a revelation to me! Keep up the conversation & let us have a peek into more of your lives! God bless you all!
Cousins have a special cosy placement in our hearts.......somewhere between best friends and siblings.
